What is This?
The simFL is a unique strategy-based virtual American football league that turns fans like you into players, coaches, and stars! Each week, players progress their attributes while coaches submit gameplans for the coming game. Then AI plays out the games, bringing the action to life as we broadcast them live on Twitch each week. With the simFL, anyone can experience the thrill of football-no matter their age, ability, or location.

The simFL runs two seasons per year: March-May and July-September. All games air live on our Twitch channel @simfootballleague.

What do participants do?
In the simFL, players progress themselves each week, slowly improving from rookie to star. Managers use their football minds to choose a playbook, pass/run ratio, and training type for their next game, and all games are publicly archived so teams have film on their opponents from last week or even last season. It’s a whole new kind of esport that allows anyone with any athletic ability to experience heart-pounding competition from the comfort of home.

How Teams Win
Player Progression – improving your player once per week will make you better on the field. Unique animations and swag help further separate the talent.
Coaching – If two teams are physically evenly-matched, the advantage lies within the team that knows their opponent inside-out and can predict their next move.
Playbook – every team has a playbook that fits their team build perfectly, but making the right changes each week can lead to a successful element of surprise.

How Teams Lose
Inactivity – whether inactive or irresponsible, players who don't improve each week and are inactive in their team's Discord servers ultimately hurt the team and their ability to keep up with the improving talent around the league.
Poor game planning – some days, you just simply get out-coached. Making the wrong adjustments – or not being able to counter your opponents' adjustments – can leave you susceptible to defeat.
Bad luck – you can’t control everything in life, we simulate that. In the simFL, the lack of control of the weather, players' decision-making, or just simply not getting the right plays called at the right time can force teams to overcome adversity.

POSITIONS
PLAYERS
In the simFL, the most iconic positions don’t get all the glory. Instead, players pick attributes (such as speed, pass accuracy and strength) to improve for their player each week, slowly building up talent in the league. Players taste the feeling of what it’s like seeing themself play on the field live on television each week and notice their improvements. Over years, they become league celebrities with sensational plays and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to be the hero for their teammates. The league tracks player stats each game, each season and throughout their career, allowing players to celebrate milestones and award top play. The best of the best get inducted in the simFL Hall Of Fame at our yearly awards ceremony-the ultimate honor of commitment, passion and glory.

MANAGERS
Building gameplans, playbooks and depth charts is easy. But having to compete with the AI and your opponent - the ultimate jigsaw puzzle. Managers formulate plans to destroy the opposition, from playbook changes to film study to gameplan adjustments, so when teams hit the field, they’ll be prepared. Studying opponent tendencies and figuring out what is working and what is not for your team is crucial. The simFL archives all of its games in full so teams can go back to last week, last month or even last season in order to get the full scope on what to do next.
